The pants of Paul
[edit]I see the scruffs "raided his closet for a pair of pants which they took turns wearing". To a Brit this means the girls took turns wearing his underpants! As far as Paul is concerned they would have raided his wardrobe for a pair of trousers, so I propose to substitute those words, if I'm right in thinking this would not detract for readers of other nationalities. - Quite right. Yet another American Beatle ‘scholar’ twists history. One of these corn-pone jokers once wrote that John Lennon was a fan of ‘Goon’s Show’, ‘a sit-com starring Peter Sellers’. Oh my gawd... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:44B8:3102:BB00:5C56:6649:E8C4:E488 (talk) 21:33, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
Across the Universe
[edit]Do the two girl fans Lennon brought in from the front steps of Abbey Road to sing on his ‘Across the Universe’ count as Apple scruffs ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:44B8:3102:BB00:5C56:6649:E8C4:E488 (talk) 21:37, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- They do. I don't understand why they are not mentioned in this article.-- Pawnkingthree (talk) 15:13, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- Actually it has been pointed out to me that the recording of "Across the Universe" predates the formation of Apple and the opening of their Savile Row headquarters by a few months, so calling the girls "Apple Scruffs" would be inaccurate.-- Pawnkingthree (talk) 17:47, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
